This ‘Swasthya Sheba’ initiative is being operated from a Networked Medical Hub established in a remote village ‘Sreefoltola’ of Rampal Upzila, in Bagerhat district where the Amader Gram Community Based Digital Health Services system was piloted in July-September 2020. The previous study in July-December 2019 through HTN clinics and recent pilot on this system examined the intra-observer concordance of advice provided by Community Health Assistant (CHA) when meeting patients face to face and by introducing the Store-and-Forward telemedicine system.
Our Mission is to ensure highest use of Information & Communication Technology for better health care in rural by which, in course of time, an affordable real-time digital health care system will be emerged in Bangladesh.
Amader Gram Swasthya Sheba is not a Task Shifting idea, however, in Digital Bangladesh the population deserve direct benefit of health services from community health assistants whom they consider as a close family associate. Therefore, most Primary Health Care services are available to shield them at home; only in situations where visit to an expert physician is necessary will the patient be connected online or in-person.
The interacted idea research with Rampal community branded Amader Gram to ‘Swasthya Sheba’; a Networked Health Solutions emerged as a reliable store-and-forward telemedicine system that able to provide both economic and social value to rural Bangladesh by connecting patients with remote primary health care.
I am literally overwhelmed after seeing the activities of Amader Gram. I must congratulate the whole team for their excellent job. I hope and pray that this team effort expands gradually and can be a source of replication for other organizations. I will always remain beside this great organization.
From the beginning, Amader Gram has worked side-by-side with community stakeholders to develop innovative, multidisciplinary approaches to improving the health and livelihoods of rural families in Bangladesh. Their efforts empower community members with the knowledge and skills they need to initiate change. It has been a highlight of my career to have worked with and learned from Reza Salim and the team at Amader Gram.
Bangladesh inherited an urban-based health care system; the majority of people lives in rural areas where getting health care is related to time-distance-money and associated costs. Amader Gram with its IT solution approach can support to address costs and provide high-quality health care..
